Sultran Ltd. is a Canadian private, independently managed company, owned by a group of oil and gas producers.  For more than 40 years, they have been delivering logistics solutions and services for Canadian sulphur exporters. Their depth and breadth of experience is unique and have earned a solid reputation for integrity, reliability and customer service.  Originally established to manage the transportation of sulphur from production facility to vessel, they also use these logistics skills, processes, intellectual capital and assets to provide similar services to other bulk commodities through its Vancouver based tidewater terminal Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. (“PCT”).

Sultran operations involve a number of inter-related processes: contracting, coordination of rail car movements, railcar fleet management, tidewater terminal operations, integrated supply chain processes and information technology systems, inventory management and vessel management to name a few.  Their team of professionals ensures these processes work in collaboration to effectively and efficiently manage the business of logistics and deliver service levels that meet or exceed the expectations of their customers.

Sultran currently provides transportation and logistics services to multiple bulk shippers from various production facilities throughout Western Canada.  Through PCT, Sultran also provides logistics and terminalling services for ethylene glycol, canola oil and potash customers.  Sultran’s  8 inland facilities across Alberta and British Columbia.  Their head office is located in Calgary, Alberta and PCT, a wholly owned subsidiary, is located in Port Moody, British Columbia.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director, Information Technology is responsible for all IT services, programs and support throughout the enterprise. The Director is responsible  for the development of the overall IT strategy as well as the tactical execution of the plan for both Sultran and PCT. The Director is responsible to recruit, manage, supervise and direct a team of IT professionals comprised of employees and contractors.

As the successful candidate you will have a post-secondary degree in related discipline along with 15+ years of proven track record of IT leadership at the executive level. As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with good knowledge of programming concepts, software development practices and associated tools and platforms. You have clear, articulate written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation and report writing skills. The successful candidate will have experience managing formal IT audits and have strong project management skills.
